Meet the Beatles superfan who changed his name to John Lennon - and has a grandson called Paul McCartney.

John, 72, was born David Presley - but got fed up of being called 'Elvis'.

And he was so taken with the Fab Four he decided to change his name 19 years ago.

His full name is now John Paul George Ringo Lennon.

John's family are also huge Beatles fans and his daughter, Melanie McCartney, has a son - called Paul.

John's house in Bridgwater, Somerset is a shrine to the Beatles.

He has a room papered with posters and littered with statuettes, and he listens to their music for up to five hours a day.

He also some 100 branded t-shirts and wears a different one every day - and regularly steps out in Sgt. Pepper gear.

John, a retired fork lift driver, said: "I'm just mad about the Beatles, and I have been for as long as I can remember.

"They were just brilliant. And everyone loved them - old and young alike.

"Honestly I like every piece of music they've done.

"Because of my old name everybody used to call me Elvis and I didn't like it. I love the Beatles the best."

John can't remember when he first heard the Beatles but thinks it was on the radio while at home in Bristol as a teenager.

He bought their records whenever he could afford to and now owns all their singles, albums - and their work as individual artists.

Although he never got to see them live, he always goes along to see tribute bands now.

John paid to change his name by deed poll in 2005.

And he now likes to step out each day in his Beatles outfits - including four Sergeant Pepper uniforms from the 60s.

He also styles his hair with a Beatles look, wears John Lennon glasses and is covered in Beatles tattoos.

Each night he hunkers down in Beatles bedding - and even owns four pairs of trainers covered in Beatles photos.

John said: "My room is like a museum - there's so much stuff in it.

"There are life-sized posters of all four of them and I like to say 'good morning' and 'good evening' to them.

"I've got all their names tattooed on me and even a picture of all four on my left leg.

"I listen to their music while I'm walking and out on the bus, but mostly when I'm sitting in the evenings. I always sing along.

"It just makes me feel so happy and there's not even a tiny bit that I don't like.

"Probably my favourite two songs are All You Need Is Love and Give Peace a Chance.

"My favourite outfits are probably the Sgt. Pepper uniforms.

"I imagine my collection would be worth a lot of money now, but I don't intend on selling it.

"And if my kids do I'll come back and haunt them..."

John lives with his daughter Melanie McCartney, 42, who changed her name to be like his.

Another daughter, Caroline Lennon, did the same, and he has grandchildren called Paul McCartney and Richard Lennon.

He added: "I feel very blessed to have four grandchildren now."
