00:00 Well you can see behind me the temporary buses that are running from Sheffield
00:06 City Centre to Hathway. Now they're in place because a broken rail has
00:13 effectively meant that trams are not able to run to Hathway in Sheffield today
00:18 and the services are for the first day being run by this bus service. Now Stagecoach
00:27 who operates the trams has been unable so far to give any time scale for how
00:33 long these changes are going to be in place.
00:37 Hello, could you tell me please what you think of the situation on the
00:53 trams at the moment with the Hathway tram being replaced by a bus for the
00:57 time being? First and foremost I was very disappointed yesterday, I'm on jury
01:01 service and I wanted to catch the tram into town so when I found out the
01:05 tram wasn't running I was a bit of a loss, I didn't know what to do so I actually
01:09 walked into town. Where was that from? From Bleakness Town End but I had time to
01:16 do it because I would have to add about an hour and a half to get there.
01:19 But when I realised today when speaking to my relations what now the tram wasn't
01:24 on they said oh you can catch the 51 you can catch the 252 so I went to the bus
01:30 stops on Town End and the first bus what came was this bus here and I've got no
01:35 complaints I think it I think they're doing a good job you know I mean it's a
01:40 broken rail so on Manor Top so what can they do they put a service on. I think
01:46 it's worked out a bit cheaper anyway from getting a day ticket as well. Do you
01:50 think they need to sort out maintenance on the route? It's hard for me to
01:55 say I mean a broken rail maybe does sound like a lack of forward planning
02:00 maybe, lack of maintenance maybe yeah but I can't complain about this service
02:08 anyway they've done a good job yeah.

02:18 Tell me please what your views are on the trams to Halfway being replaced by
02:22 buses? Well I found it difficult this morning because I didn't know they were
02:28 on replacement buses and so I've had quite a journey to get to a hospital
02:35 point so if I'd have known about that it would have been okay but it's made me late
02:44 and getting a first minute so I'm not very happy about the appearance of it.
02:51 Does it cause you inconvenience that it's that it's now buses instead of
02:55 trams? Yes yeah. Was the service as good as the
03:00 trams usually are? Well I seem to have to wait longer for the bus to come so you know I'm not sure.
03:12 Hello, could you give me your views please on the trams being replaced by buses?
03:17 Yeah I think it was a bit inconvenient because I've got an interview today this morning so I guess I was a bit worried about that
03:26 but it's good that there's no replacement buses and the staff are really helpful
03:31 and signposting me where to go. I didn't know that the tram was broken and
03:38 it's been broken since Tuesday I've heard so maybe it would have been good to know
03:43 somewhere that that was happening but maybe I'm not looking at the right places.
