How do you feel being here now, having come through everything you have?
00:14
Well, it's been a long, tough, hard road in the 14 years that we've been here.
00:22
We are farmers, originally, and farming's in our blood.
00:27
But we had to make the decision back, about 10 years ago probably,
00:33
whether we continued farming or whether we had to diversify.
00:38
And we diversified into this, Caravan Park, and it's grown to what it is today.
00:45
And it takes up all our time, so we have quite a bit more to do.
00:51
We built a teenage park, whatever, to complement the play barn down there, the moody calf.
00:58
And also, we've got a big swimming pool complex to build in a year or so.
01:04
A big water park complex, whatever, that everybody seems to want in the middle of Kerry to get in here.
01:10
So, that's where we are. It's been a long road, a hard road.
01:16
But we're here, and we employ a lot of good people, 100 people,
01:21
and our managers are brilliant. It eases our tasks altogether.
01:25
Now then, this is the posh cow. This is the event, sort of, hire room, whatever, for the moody cow.
01:32
It's an event room that people can hire for birthdays, christenings, funerals, or any event indeed.
01:42
It is proving quite popular, and it's an event that can take up to 50 or 60 people.
01:49
Now then, this is the decking, overlooking the ponds and on the skibble.
01:54
And we've had many, many weddings out here. We can get about 100 people on this decking here, 100 chairs.
02:00
And the bride and groom get married in March there, on the way up.
02:06
And on a lovely day, it's nothing better.
02:09
Now then, these are our hot tubs in the enclosures.
02:13
All our tubs are round tubs. They're to the highest of standards.
02:18
And the water, we tend to put it 40 degrees.
02:22
They're all cleaned out after people go.
02:25
Sometimes inside and out, and they're refilled with hot water.
02:29
Welcome to the Lutheran System Hotel.
02:31
It's 11 rooms, all en suite, all of their own bathrooms.
02:35
They're all air conditioned. The decor is about the same in them all.
02:39
Like I said, some are double rooms, some are family rooms.
02:44
We also got footy up there, if you need to extend the family numbers.
02:49
This is our battery cube. It's 450 kilowatts.
02:54
It works well in conjunction of our solar panels on the roof, which are 300 kilowatts.
03:00
And also we have a biofuel generator.
03:05
It comes in its own, really.
03:08
The days get longer, and the amount of biofuel in the generator gets less.
03:15
But even in the winter, the solar panels work.
03:19
And it cuts down on our energy bills.
03:23
We are off-grid. We are carbon neutral.
03:27
We do offset enormous amounts of carbon every year.
03:30
This is our recycling centre.
03:33
As you can see, the rubbish, when it comes in from the caravan park, is dropped there.
03:38
It's then scooped up and it goes into the hopper.
03:41
Then it is taken up the elevator to the picking line.
03:45
And it's dropped down into four bays, and a couple of bays over the side of the wall there as well.
03:50
Then it's baled in that baler there.
03:53
It makes half-ton bales, to which van it goes off to the recycling places where they reuse the materials.
