Three stories in brief, and an overnight noise complaint service is set to be scrapped under
00:06
cost-saving plans. Leeds City Council is planning to abolish its out-of-hours noise witnessing
00:11
service which operates between 5pm and 4am. The plan is part of wide-ranging spending
00:17
cuts being proposed at the authority, which is trying to balance its budget as it faces
00:22
a multi-million pound shortfall.
00:24
Next, Wakefield Coroner's Office are appealing for information for two people who have passed
00:29
away recently. They're looking for relatives of 62-year-old Rick Martin, who lived on Nosta
00:34
Terrace in Leeds, and 77-year-old Mary Edwards, who lived in Wakefield.
00:40
And finally, new habitats could be created under a council-run scheme to ensure private
00:44
developers contribute to the ecological improvements in the city. A Habitat Bank could be created
00:50
to help meet its obligations under environmental rules.
