A doctor has shared seven signs and symptoms of bladder cancer.

Doctor Amir Khan says bladder cancer is one of the “least talked about” cancers and symptoms can often be dismissed as something else or can overlap with urinary disorders.

One of the main symptoms can be blood in your urine, especially if it is painless as you pass it.

Doctor Khan has encouraged people to seek medical help if they are experiencing any of the symptoms listed in this video he has shared to raise awareness

00:00 Let's talk about the symptoms of bladder cancer. Now, bladder cancer signs and symptoms can be mistaken for those of a urine retract infection or bladder stones.
00:16 And most definitely those things are more common and symptoms overlap, but it's worth knowing when you need to speak to a healthcare professional.
00:23 Now, blood in your urine is the most common symptom of bladder cancer. It can appear red, orange, pink, brown and can come and go and is usually, but not always, painless.
00:36 Other early symptoms can include pain on peeing, going to the toilet to pass water more often or the sudden and uncontrollable urge to pee.
00:46 Later on in the disease, symptoms can extend to abdominal pain, swelling of the legs, flank pain back here and if the cancer spreads to other areas, it can cause bone pain, fatigue, loss of appetite and weight loss.
01:00 The key is to catch it early. So if you notice any blood in your urine, no matter how small, even if it happened just once and is no longer the case, don't put it off. See a healthcare professional.
