Sea of Ice Needles in Siberia’s Lake Baikal, the deepest lake in the world.

Sea of Ice Needles in Siberia’s Lake Baikal, the deepest lake in the world. Experts suggest that needle-shaped ice crystals are formed in areas where water is relatively calm. These crystals tend to grow horizontally and eventually stick to one another. However, during springtime, the bonds between these needle-like structures weaken and the ice sheet disintegrates into individual elements. Consequently, waves resulting from the ice needles can be observed. #Income_feeds
