Coming off a tough playoff loss, Brian Branch And Aidan Hutchinson joined Sports Illustrated on behalf of Bounty and talked about how it is to play for the Motor City capital.

00:09 Is there a little salt taste in your mouth, bad taste in your mouth,

00:14 I had y'all win that game.

00:16 >> I had us too in the first half, and then we fell apart a little bit.

00:21 But that heartache, it's still there, it still burns, man.

00:24 But we'll get over it, more fuel, definitely, definitely.

00:29 But it hurts, man, that's it.

00:31 That's, cuz you feel like it was we had it right here, and

00:35 it just kinda slipped through our grasp.

00:37 >> Motor City, Detroit, great fan base,

00:45 been loyal for a long time, waiting for a season like this.

00:50 To give hope that we can be competitive and contenders every year.

00:55 What did it mean?

00:58 Because out of all the teams, right?

01:00 I played in Dallas, I played in Oakland, I played in Miami.

01:05 You know that you have a fan base.

01:07 But when we get up there and talk,

01:08 we're not really talking about how much we love this city.

01:11 We're not talking about how much we love the fans,

01:13 and how much the fans have endured.

01:16 But it seemed like every time you guys had to talk or you spoke about the team,

01:20 y'all always mentioned the city that we were playing for.

01:23 So what does that really mean to y'all that y'all really got that city on y'all's back?

01:29 >> It drives us, knowing that, like you said, they loyal fans and

01:33 they be waiting for this forever.

01:35 And the fact that they're this happy to experience something like this,

01:39 it drives us to even do better.

01:41 >> Yeah, I feel like there's been such a drought in sports in Detroit for

01:47 a while, especially with the Lions.

01:49 And the city, man, if we get a taste of success,

01:54 we got the loudest stadium for all the playoffs and stuff.

01:58 And you feel their energy and you feel how excited they are for us.

02:04 And so when we win and we have all our glory, it's like you gotta just give it to

02:09 the fans, because it's like, these are the hardworking people of Detroit.

02:12 And we as a team embody everything that Detroit is with the grit and

02:17 the hardworking and they'll write us off, but we're gonna keep imposing our will.

02:22 So I feel like that's what we kind of embody Detroit.

02:25 >> So, sometimes you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

02:30 Dan Campbell received a lot of criticism because of the second half of the game.

02:34 Do you feel like that's unfair?

02:37 >> In a way, I feel like, shoot, he's been calling himself aggressive all year.

02:43 >> All year.

02:44 >> Don't change who you are because of the moment.

02:47 You guys stick to your roots.

02:48 And I feel like, hey, he believed we can get that fourth down.

02:52 Shoot, we believe that we get that fourth down too.

03:14 >> Yeah, I feel like San Fran's defense definitely has more big names on it.

03:17 But I feel like Chiefs, their defense is just,

03:20 they're playing better sound defense right now.

03:23 And I don't know, this game's gonna be,

03:27 it's gonna be, I have no idea who's gonna win, actually.

03:35 >> No, not this year, but like, what is it, a year, two years ago?

03:38 >> The Super Bowl?

03:39 >> Not in the Super Bowl, but like- >> They did play in the Super Bowl.

03:43 >> They played in the Super Bowl careers, was it Brock Perkins, Jimmy Garoppolo?

03:46 >> Yeah. >> And Chiefs came back and

03:49 >> Yeah. >> I think that was in South Florida.
