On Feb. 6, Sweeney confirmed to CNN that he has received a cease-and-desist letter from Swift. .
He is accused of "stalking and harassing behavior,
including consistently publishing real-time and precise information about our client’s location and future whereabouts to the public on social media," the letter states.
According to Swift's attorneys,
Sweeney's actions pose an "imminent threat to the safety and wellbeing" of the singer.
Sweeney is also accused of disregarding
public safety "in exchange for public attention and/or requests for financial gain," CNN reports. .
Swift's attorneys have deemed the situation to be a "life-or-death matter" since the singer has dealt with her fair share of stalkers.
"She will have no choice but to pursue
any and all legal remedies available to her"
if Sweeney does not stop, the letter states. .
Sweeney reportedly received the cease-and-desist letter after Swift was scrutinized over her carbon footprint. .
He maintains that he is simply compiling "public information," CNN reports. .
