Police carry out dawn drug raids in Washwood Heath

00:18 This morning we've executed a drugs warrant in Asquith Road.

00:21 We received information a few weeks ago about two individuals from the Allan Rock wash and deep area

00:27 being involved in the wound of the Cooper drugs line.

00:30 That drugs line was supplying heroin and crack cocaine to vulnerable users across the city.

00:36 So we obtained a warrant last week from Birmingham Magistrates Court for two premises,

00:41 this one in Asquith Road where we are now and one a couple of roads away.

00:45 We've got two miles in custody and we've got searches ongoing at both properties

00:50 where we're optimistic that we're going to recover evidence in support of our investigation,

00:56 notably Class A drugs, cash and drugs line phones, telephones that have been used in the running of that drugs line.
