00:00 The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken a legal action against Aravind Keshriwal,
00:11 Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party Chief for disregarding five summons related to the
00:15 excise policy case.
00:17 According to media reports, the ED has filed a complaint in Delhi's Rules of Venue Court,
00:22 accusing Keshriwal of non-compliance in the money laundering case tied to the Delhi liquor
00:27 policy.
00:28 The court heard initial submissions postponing the rest of the considerations on 7 February.
00:32 In addition, this morning, Delhi Police Crime Branch authorities served Delhi Minister
00:37 Atishi Marlena a notice of inquiry into the ARP's allegation that the BJP is attempting
00:43 to steal the MLAs in New Delhi.
00:45 On 4 February, officials from the Crime Branch visited the home of Delhi Minister Atishi
00:50 and delivered a notice on the claims that BJP was trying to poach MLAs from the Aam
00:54 Aadmi Party.
00:55 Atishi, however, was not at her home, according to the sources.
00:59 According to the sources in the ARP, the minister had instructed her office personnel to receive
01:03 the notice.
01:04 This move follows Keshriwal's absence from five ED summons opting to join the ARP protests
01:09 near the BJP headquarters.
01:11 The ARP contends that the summons are illegal, alleging BJP to aiming to topple the Delhi
01:16 government by arresting Keshriwal.
01:18 The party, however, asserts compliance with the lawful summons while resisting to what
01:22 it perceives as politically motivated action.
01:24 Despite criticism from BJP leaders, including Meenakshi Lekhi and Manoj Tiwari, the ARP
01:29 maintains its stance.
01:30 Lekhi accuses Keshriwal of evading questions while Tiwari questions the message sent to
01:35 Delhi's children about the following law.
01:37 The ED warns Keshriwal's statement on Delhi Excise Policy's formulation, pre-implementation
01:42 meeting and the bribery allegations.
01:44 The case stems from an FIR detailing irregularities in the 2021 and 2022 Delhi Excise Policy withdrawn
01:50 due to corruption allegations.
01:52 This is the same policy due to which the Deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, is also in jail.
01:57 In a recent chat sheet, the ED alleges ARP used kickbacks worth Rs 45 crore from the
02:03 policy of its Goa election campaign in 2022.
02:06 To ARP leaders, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh are already in judicial custody due
02:11 to this case.
02:12 Sisodia was arrested by the CBI while Singh, a Rajya Sabha member, was arrested by the
02:17 ED.
02:18 Keshriwal's repeated absence from Delhi ED summons is prompting questions about the legal
02:22 challenges he faces.
02:24 As the court proceedings unfold, the political and legal implications for the ARP leader
02:30 remains significant.
