Nearly 50% of homes in Gaza destroyed by Israeli shelling

More than 50% of the houses in Gaza have been destroyed as a result of Israeli bombardment since October 7th last year. More details with our correspondent Noor Harazeen.

00:22 streets of Gaza now and not find a destroyed home, if not completely, at least partly damaged.

00:29 We are also talking about most of Gaza's infrastructure being completely destroyed.

00:35 People here on the ground are talking about a new war, a war of survival,

00:40 when they go back to their homes, as most of the homes were destroyed.

00:47 Talking about me personally, I lost my own home and this means that if I manage to go back to

00:53 northern Gaza, I have no place to stay. I will have to have my own tent on the rubble of my

00:58 destroyed home. And this is the thing that even most of the displaced people are wanting. They

01:05 want to go back to northern Gaza, even if they will live inside tents. Adding to this the fact

01:11 that there is no infrastructure in Gaza, especially in northern Gaza, most of the water pipeline were

01:17 destroyed. Most of the electricity lines were destroyed. Most of the network stations and lines

01:23 were also destroyed. So we're talking about months, if not years, of rebuilding and

01:29 reconstructing the Gaza Strip. However, as I said before, displaced Palestinians prefer to go back

01:37 and live in northern Gaza on their destroyed homes than being displaced in another place in Gaza.
