00:47 but I felt quite prepared and ready to do well here.

00:51 Obviously, winning the tournament is something unbelievable,

00:56 but I just try to take day after day, as I said there in Kuiyong,

01:02 and trying to be ready for the biggest challenges

01:05 and obviously playing against the best players in the world.

01:09 So I'm really happy how I performed here, and let's see what's coming in the future.

01:24 Can you imagine reaching that sort of level after the fortnight you've just had?

01:28 Yeah, honestly, I don't think about that.

01:31 He's a different league.

01:34 I'm just happy that I have this trophy for this year, and then we'll see what's coming.

01:41 But, you know, there is still a lot of work to do,

01:45 but I will enjoy my process, and then we'll see what I can achieve in the future.

01:52 Yannick, you can't wait to see the full-fledged future.

01:59 Do you think it will be better, or do you think it will be like the Chinese last year?

02:05 I don't like to talk about what's good to change.

02:11 The NoLets, I think, was in the next gen.

02:16 It's something new. They always try something new to see how it works,

02:23 to make the game a little bit shorter for the spectators.

02:27 But there are tournaments like the Grand Slams who have a big history behind them,

02:34 so I think it's good to see how they are.

02:38 Long matches are always enjoyable to watch.

04:03 What did you think yesterday right after match point, after coming back?

04:08 There were obviously a lot of emotions in my head.

04:13 The hard work and the sacrifices I've done throughout my career

04:18 and sharing this moment with my team was maybe the best feeling I've had until now.

04:25 It's great emotions. I was just happy.

04:30 Yesterday I still maybe couldn't believe it, and now I start to realise it.

04:35 So it's a great feeling.

04:38 Yannick, congratulations.

04:40 Can you talk to us about how you celebrated last night?

04:43 We've seen how good of a relationship you have with your team.

04:46 Can you talk to us about your relationship with Darren Cahill as well?

04:49 The relationship with Darren is incredibly good.

04:55 I've known him now for more or less two years.

05:00 I see more of him than my family.

05:04 It's great to have him in my team.

05:09 It's great that we have the chance to talk about other stuff, not only about tennis.

05:15 Generally, he's a key person of our team.

05:20 He has a lot of experience, which helped us to handle the situation and the pressure in the right way.

05:26 Yesterday, nothing. We just went to eat something and that's it.

05:33 We went to sleep a little bit late, but it's okay.

05:39 Yannick, congratulations on the win.

05:41 You spoke last night about your parents and the freedom they gave you when you were younger to play other sports and try other things.

05:47 Can you just elaborate a bit more about that and what other sports you liked when you were younger?

05:51 When I was young, I played football. I was a skier and then obviously I played tennis.

05:59 But I never had one sport where I said, "Okay, I want to do this."

06:04 Until I was around 13 years old, then I started to take away football and skiing.

06:11 Because tennis gave me a feeling that I can make the difference.

06:18 Football is tough if you play. It's a team sport.

06:23 In skiing, if you make one mistake, you cannot win the race.

06:28 In tennis, you can still make some mistakes, but still win.

06:34 I think also mentally wise, you have more advantage to handle the situation a little bit better.

06:44 You have more time to think about how to play the point.

06:48 The parents gave me a good sense of trying to find the right solution.

06:58 Nick, congratulations. You had a quick chat to Nick Kyrgios last night and you had some words of encouragement for him.

07:02 How much would you like to see him back on the tour?

07:05 It would be awesome to see him back.

07:09 There are not so many players who have this kind of talent that he has.

07:15 Obviously, making surgeries at a quite young age, he's still young.

07:22 It's not easy. I wish him all the best, a speedy recovery.

07:28 We all hope to see him back on the court.

07:31 Yannick, as you prepare to fly out of Australia, out of Melbourne,

07:35 what's going to be your biggest takeaway of being here in the city?

07:38 For sure, I love the support throughout the whole two weeks.

07:45 I'm going to miss all the people.

07:48 But in the other way, one year passes fast, so I'm already looking forward to coming back.

07:54 It's an incredible tournament. The people are always really happy.

07:58 They try to help not only the players, but everyone.

08:04 I think that's really nice to see. I'm really looking forward to coming back.

08:09 I'm trying to play some good tennis next year and also trying to be healthy and happy,

08:14 which is the most important.
