NA-239 Karachi, once Lyari, was a stronghold of the Pakistan People’s Party, but in the 2018 election, Abdul Shakoor Shad from the PTI won this seat. Sardar Nabeel Gabol from the Pakistan Peoples Party, Yasir Baloch from Pakistan Tehereek Saaf, Sharjeel Goplani from the TLP, Fazal ur Rehman Niazi from Jamaat Islami, and Molana Noor ul Haq from JUIF are going to contest the election in 2024.
A survey is being conducted to determine who people will vote for in the 2024 election. The survey by Urdu Point anchor Shaan Chaudhry concluded that people want to cast their vote for Pakistan's Tehreek Insaaf.
