Transcript
00:00 My name is Mohammad Shakir and I am from Mianwali.
00:04 My father's name is Nazir Ahmed and he is a labourer.
00:07 I would like to thank you first of all and I am proud of the fact that I am a member of two mega projects.
00:13 One of them is the Punjab Dhani School.
00:15 In Pimla?
00:16 Yes, sir. In Pimla, Mianwali, Harnoli.
00:18 And the other one is your PF, Punjab Education Endowment Fund.
00:22 Because of that, I am a professional engineer in Pakistan.
00:25 Wow!
00:28 You have set a new record. I feel like I have become an engineer.
00:32 Very good.
00:33 Ma Shaa Allah.
00:34 Wow!
00:35 Sir, as your party has made a lot of improvements in terms of tech entrepreneurship and technology has got a boost up.
00:45 But sir, I am seeing that technology is getting demoralized day by day.
00:50 So, my question to you is that as a professional engineer,
00:53 what is your vision according to the advancement in technology and the scope of engineers' jobs
00:59 so that engineers can contribute in the economy of Pakistan?
01:03 The request is that you have asked a very important question.
01:08 I had said this in the beginning that you are, you are, you are.
01:16 You are in a particular field, you study and become very capable.
01:23 So, it is not necessary that you have to do a job.
01:28 You will get a job somewhere, you will not get a job somewhere.
01:30 It is the job of the government of the time to make such policy instruments,
01:36 to bring such policy programs,
01:40 so that the young generation who have already obtained education,
01:46 they have done undergrad, masters,
01:49 just like you have become an engineer,
01:51 they do not have to wait for a degree.
01:55 Either they get a good job according to their education,
02:01 or they become self-employed themselves.
02:04 Or you can hire a few people and put a small cottage down,
02:09 small, medium enterprises.
02:11 This is the way forward, this is the vision
02:15 which has brought about a revolution of progress and happiness everywhere in the world.
02:21 So, I think what you have said is very pertinent.
02:25 That we will take a comprehensive approach to promote small, medium enterprises.
02:36 This is a part of our manifesto.
02:39 Sir, my name is Amna Umar. I am a computer engineer from UIT Lahore.
02:45 I have taken an honours degree in MS Engineering.
02:50 After that, you started an initiative for e-library.
02:54 I have been a beneficiary of that.
02:57 I studied in e-library and then I secured a job.
03:00 And I am serving as a custom inspector in Pakistan Customs.
03:04 Sir, this was just an introduction.
03:10 Obviously, knowledge has no end.
03:13 Libraries promote a culture of knowledge and education.
03:18 I am very thankful for this initiative.
03:21 I would like to request you, being a jobby now,
03:27 we should be able to study after a job, if I want to pursue my education.
03:33 Government libraries have a very short timings.
03:38 International standards require 24/7 education.
03:44 I have been preparing for competitive exams.
03:49 I have been preparing for CSS.
03:52 I have qualified for CSS in my first attempt.
03:59 I have passed my written exam.
04:03 But I could not get an allocation due to the lack of seats.
04:07 If a student has worked so hard and has reached here,
04:11 and if he is not able to adjust due to the lack of seats,
04:16 then he should be able to adjust in a parallel job.
04:19 There should be a policy like this, which includes youth on merit.
04:25 There should be inclusive policies, which include youth.
04:31 If I want to be a part of civil service,
04:34 then how can I take part in the implementation of that policy?
04:39 Otherwise, if you are leading a political party,
04:42 then how can you ensure inclusivity for youth in a political party?
04:47 Very good question.
04:50 First of all, e-libraries should spread across Pakistan.
05:00 Alhamdulillah, I am not speaking for myself,
05:05 but we launched this vision in Punjab.
05:10 My plan was to build an e-library in every park.
05:17 There should be not only people from the walks,
05:21 but also people from the cricket or hockey teams.
05:25 There should be an e-library where children, young people, and elders can sit and study.
05:31 We started this.
05:34 I must admit that we faced some hurdles,
05:38 but even today, the e-libraries are functional and work.
05:43 But the way to expand it across the country,
05:49 unfortunately, that did not happen.
05:52 I do not blame any government.
05:54 We are not here to settle political scores.
06:00 I am just speaking for myself.
06:02 I want to speak about the country and our thoughts for the young generation.
06:11 I think e-libraries should be present in every park across the country.
06:19 Without them, no park should develop.
06:23 We have to fix these things.
06:26 Your suggestion about the seats is a good one.
06:31 If Allah gives us a chance, we will see.
06:34 Thank you.
