A mermaid competition saw contestants donning mythical fish-like costumes and performing underwater feats alongside fish in an aquarium.
The competition included the China Mermaid Open Championship and the International Mermaid Performance Contest.
Hosted in Sanya City on the Chinese island of Hainan, categories included the women's and men's singles, mixed teams as well as best costume and rookie of the year.
