00:40 and now says the competition series helped her through a difficult time in her life.

00:49 which was my apex year of hell.

00:53 The show saved my life. It just, working with all of those really wonderful people and feeling

01:00 productive and knowing I could spread some kindness and not just wallow in my hell and

01:08 just try to keep my head above water. It helped me. It was like a flotation device.

01:12 And become a part of the Food Network family. It's a fun place to be a family.

01:15 Knowing what a difference it made to her,

01:17 Valerie goes on to explain what she'll miss about the show.

01:20 I think I'm just most sad that I won't be able to tell everybody what they mean to me.

01:24 Les and Duff and that camera crew, sound crew, art department, that kitchen crew.

01:33 Oh my God, these people work so hard to give you an amazing show.

01:39 And all of those kid bakers that I got to watch grow up. I feel so lucky.

01:50 No, I'm all right. I'm all right. But like, I'm not very good in front of the camera. And like,

03:17 writing in part, "It's nice to see how far I've come emotionally. I am enough."

03:22 I'm not going to obsess over the scale anymore. It never, no matter what that number was,

03:27 it never made me happy. Even if it was never small enough and if it was too big,

03:30 I didn't want to see anybody. So it's not going to run my life any longer at all.
