Facebook's Former COO Sheryl Sandberg Steps Down from Meta's Board of Directors
  • 3 months ago
Former Meta operating chief Sheryl Sandberg announced she is leaving the company's board of directors and will not stand for re-election in May 2022. Sandberg joined Facebook in 2008 and served as COO for over 14 years, helping grow the company significantly during her tenure. She stepped down as COO in June 2022 and has since focused on her nonprofit LeanIn.org, which empowers women in the workplace. Sandberg's exit from the board comes after Meta faced numerous controversies in recent years around privacy, content moderation and more.
