Craig Owen's Fatal Crash @ Ware Shoals Dragway 2016

A renowned drag racer from Easley, Pickens County in the State of South Carolina, Craig Owen lost his life during the "864 CASH DAYS 2.0 Full Prep!!" meeting held at Ware Shoals Dragway.
It happened around 19h00 on Saturday, 30 July 2016. While running at full speed in competition, Craig Owen's black Mazda RX-7 made a hard right turn on the track, hit a wall and flipped several times. The car landed on vehicles parked along the side of the track, its driver Craig Owen died from blunt force trauma.
A bystander, Jason Kelly of Greenville, South Carolina, was struck by the vehicle. He was transported to Self Regional hospital in Greenwood with serious but non life-threatening injuries. A 3-year-old boy was also injured and taken to hospital as a result of the accident.
