The Met Police has released details of an innovative undercover operation to target watch robbery using its new, more precise approach to tackle crime affecting London’s communities.

Undercover officers posed as members of the public, all in possession of luxury watches, with the aim of catching robbers in the area red-handed.

In this video the undercover officer was out in the Soho area when his watch was robbed by a group of five men. Four of the men have since been convicted.
