Oh hi, I'm Zoe Killick, I am the headteacher of St Paul's Catholic Primary School and Nursery.
00:06
So tell me what this means to everyone at the school.
00:11
We're absolutely thrilled with the outcome from Ofsted, it was a really rigorous process
00:16
but for us as a school it shows our dedication and commitment to our children to improve
00:21
their lives, to give them the best start to education they can possibly receive.
00:27
Tell me what message this sends to prospective pupils and parents.
00:35
I think in the report it really highlights the strengths of our schools, the things that
00:39
we've worked really hard to achieve and we will continue to achieve and I think those
00:44
things that have been highlighted are really important to parents.
00:47
So for example we give children a best start in reading so that they can access our full
00:52
curriculum, we really value our art so we have music specialists, art specialists that
00:57
come and teach our children and also we really spend a lot of time with our children building
01:03
up strong relationships, pastorally as well so that we can give them all kinds of support
01:08
that they need.
01:12
So your last Ofsted report was good, what have you done to maintain the consistency
01:22
over the years?
01:23
Okay so I became headteacher post-Covid just at the start of the pandemic so we've seen
01:30
quite a big change in education in that time with the children coming into school and the
01:36
needs and the gaps in that education so we have made some significant changes to our
01:41
system at school which have had a huge impact, our latest results show this and the way that
01:48
the children behave, the way that they're accessing their learning and we continue to
01:53
strive to be the best that we can so there are areas that we need to develop that are
01:58
highlighted in the report and we are already putting those things into place.
02:03
And is there a message you want to give to the pupils?
02:06
I'm so proud of them, every day they bring smiles to all of the staff's face, they are
02:13
a true delight to be part of their lives and it's a real privilege to be their headteacher.
