A growing population and increasingly challenging weather cycles are putting pressure on drinking water supplies and Sydney's water authority says the solution could be treated wastewater. But convincing Australians that recycled water — purified water from kitchens, showers and toilets for reuse — is safe to consume hasn't always been easy.
