Scott Adkins brushes himself off for another action movie made to look like a continuous shot in this sequel, clearly inspired by Die Hard 2, but does Film Brain recommend you give it a shot?

00:00
Scott Adkins returns for another round of real-time action,
00:03
edited to look like a continuous take, in the sequel One More Shot.
00:07
Adkins is transferring the same terrorist suspect from the first movie to Washington Baltimore
00:11
Airport so they can interrogate him and find out where he's hidden a dirty bomb.
00:15
Unfortunately, a bunch of mercenaries that buy Michael Jai White also want to find out where that bomb is.
00:21
Clearly taking its cues from Die Hard 2, London's Stansted isn't the most convincing location double for Baltimore,
00:26
but director James Nunn is obviously making the most out of a very limited budget.
00:30
There's a near-constant stream of fight scenes and set pieces,
00:32
and the continuous camera shows off Adkins to his full advantage,
00:36
and the gimmick alternates between being kind of video gamey to immersively exhilarating.
00:41
It's when the action dies down that the movie starts to falter.
00:44
The plot is very thin, and it isn't helped by the fact that some of the actors are clearly
00:48
very wobbly at having to deliver all the dialogue in long takes.
00:52
And while it's a pleasure to see Adkins and Jai White spar against each other with not an editor inside,
00:57
this movie needed way more Michael Jai White.
