00:00 I think we are in a points business and we've reflected a number of times on

00:08 what we want to achieve in a very ambitious club and the numbers do not

00:13 lie so we're looking obviously at areas of where we can improve where we can't

00:18 improve and the conclusion I think it's come the last few weeks we expected a

00:24 number of points by Christmas and we didn't get them so that's really how it

00:29 concluded I believe when one door shuts one door opens and we are very very

00:37 privileged and excited to have Phil now at the helm and it's a bit of luck

00:46 I think I'd like to go on record as saying that Russ and Jimmy have done a

00:52 fantastic job here but as the chairman made reference to the numbers this year

00:57 don't lie when the opportunity came along obviously everybody looks at the

01:03 league table week in and week out players included as well as management

01:07 players you know managers in or out of work and you look at Kidderminster and I

01:13 was surprised if truth be known I thought Kidderminster would have been

01:16 mid-table if not pushing towards playoffs or promotion it's a difficult

01:22 league there's no doubt about it I've got a bit of experience in this league

01:25 for sure I think when I got the call from Dean first and foremost to come and

01:34 meet the chairman I honestly thought they wanted to pick me brains about the

01:39 situation you know which way to go and I've known Dean 25-30 years in the game

01:45 and I thought he was wanting a bit of experience to lend a helping hand and at

01:50 the end of the day I didn't realize that the conversation was

01:53 coming around becoming the manager and when it was offered I must admit I was

01:58 excited I was there was something nice about the whole day there was something

02:02 real about the whole day it was a proper football club it was proper football

02:06 people the challenge was immense there's no doubt about it the challenge is quite

02:11 simply to stay in the National League and yeah I've had calls saying

02:17 are you crazy I've had calls saying well done congratulations back in the game

02:23 and it's at the thick end of things as it were you know you're right in amongst

02:26 it's tin helmets straight away if we've got that group mentality we've then got

02:31 to turn that group mentality into winning games as opposed to drawing and

02:34 drawing games as opposed to losing that's going to take some time I know

02:38 there's new manager bounce and a lot of people talk about new manager bounces

02:41 they're going to be result this weekend next weekend next weekend I'm not

02:45 particularly into new manager bounce but what I'm into is long-term planning

02:49 but there's going to be fresh faces and fresh ideas and hopefully that fresh

02:54 voice that fresh noise on the training ground will turn the club from defeats

02:59 into draws draws into wins but being able to be involved with that kind of

03:05 people that positivity was music to my ears and one of the main reasons why I'm

03:09 here because I've seen them work today and I've seen what I've witnessed today

03:12 and I know what I see on a training ground many many things but you've got

03:16 to see it on Saturday if you've got players that only perform Monday to

03:19 Friday they're no good to me they're no good to the chairman they're no good to

03:22 get them into that area Saturday is the main day Saturday is game day Saturday is

03:27 business day and we need the business to be done right transfer what you're doing

03:31 on a Monday to Friday on onto the pitch on a Saturday and if the supporters

03:35 actually say that I'll have done the job if the supporters don't say that I'll be

03:40 the first one that's getting stick and I do want to say this I really I really

03:46 want people to now say it's mighty albeit I've inherited the problem and

03:51 then the club it is now my team so we're talking about we now it's a massive we

03:56 project now and I want people to understand that kid amidst the areas is

04:00 now managed by Phil Brown Neil McDonald and whatever happens from now at the

04:03 end of the season will be my or our responsibility
