Steve Waugh the legendary Australian captain didn’t have a great start to his test career, it took him 42 innings to score his first hundred. He averaged a measly 30.42 in his first 42 innings. But that first hundred transformed him and he retired as the most-capped test cricketer with more than 10000 Test runs and 32 hundreds. Waugh led Australia in 57 tests, emerging victorious in 41 of them. Notably, his team achieved a remarkable feat by winning 16 consecutive Test matches. As the ODI captain, Waugh further solidified his legacy by securing victory in the 1999 World Cup.
