Hunter Biden made a surprise appearance at a House Oversight Committee hearing considering a resolution to hold him in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a subpoena for his testimony. Biden had refused a request to give a private deposition to the committee on December 13th as part of the Republican-led impeachment inquiry against his father President Joe Biden. He had previously said he would be willing to testify at a public hearing. At the hearing, some Republican members criticized Biden for being unwilling to testify, with one calling him a "coward" after he abruptly left shortly after arriving with his lawyers.
