AFCA receives almost 9,000 reports, up from 4,611 in 2022

Scam complaints to Australia’s financial dispute resolution scheme have doubled in the past year, putting pressure on the independent umpire. The AFCA received almost 9 thousand complaints related to scams last year, up from 4 thousand 600 in 2022. The scheme in total received more than 100 thousand complaints, the largest in its five-year history.
