Online holiday spending set a new record, rising 4.9% year-over-year to $222.1 billion from November to December, according to Adobe Analytics data. Strong discounts drove more purchases this season, as e-commerce prices fell 5.3% on average compared to last year. Cyber Week deals accounted for nearly 20% of total online spending. Use of buy now, pay later options like Affirm and Klarna grew 14%, contributing $16.6 billion in sales.
