Official Transcript Reveals Japanese Coast Guard Aircraft Hit by JAL Plane Was Only Cleared to Taxi
  • 4 months ago
The official transcript released Wednesday indicates that the Japanese coast guard aircraft hit by a passenger plane at Tokyo's Haneda Airport was only cleared to taxi, not to take off. The transcript of air traffic control communications released by officials indicates the Coast Guard aircraft was only told to "taxi to holding point," while the JAL plane had been cleared to land. Stop bar runway lights that prevent erroneous taxiing may have been out of service, according to public notices.
