00:28 Association or AIMTC decided to end the nationwide truck drivers' protests against the new

00:36 The government assured the members of the transport body that the new laws have not
00:39 been implemented yet and will only be implemented after consultation with the AIMTC.
00:44 "The Article 106(2) of the Law, which states that the vehicle drivers are to be punished
00:50 for 10 years and the fine should be paid, has been taken into consideration.
00:55 We have discussed this with the representatives of the All India Motor Transport Congress

01:01 The government wants to say that these new laws and regulations have not been implemented

01:28 Despite reports of the trucker's strike being called off late on Tuesday night, the aftermath
01:34 continues to unfold.
01:36 The strike, which initially centred around the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita's provision for
01:39 hit and run cases, has now triggered a chain reaction affecting fuel supply and essential
01:44 goods.
01:45 Cities such as Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi witnessed long queues at filling stations
01:50 with many residents opting for full tank refills.
01:54 The president of Lucknow Petrol Diesel Dealers Association, Dayashankar Singh, warned that
01:58 if stocks aren't replenished soon, oil pumps in the state could run out by Wednesday afternoon.
02:04 Meanwhile, the protest's impact on the supply chain is felt beyond fuel shortages.
02:09 The supply of fruits and vegetables has taken a hit, affecting cities like Meerut, which
02:14 depends on deliveries from Azadpur Mandi in Delhi.
02:17 Vegetable prices soared in Meerut and a 20-30 per cent increase in prices was reported in

02:24 The situation is dire, with concerns that the strike's continuation may exacerbate the

02:31 In Kanpur, the impact extended to public transport with e-rickshaws going off the roads.
02:37 The city faced a shortage of milk as 140 vehicles supplying the commodity remained idle.
02:43 Workers faced difficulties and armed escorts were provided to the depots of major oil companies.
02:49 In Varanasi, truck drivers took to blocking roads, causing extensive traffic jams from
