00:26 Shooting Galleries - The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask

00:37 Majora's Mask is a bit harder than Ocarina of Time in multiple ways, including its mini-games.

00:44 There are two shooting galleries Link can visit, one in Clock Town and one on the way

00:48 to the Southern Swamp, though both are challenging in their own ways.

00:52 The Swamp one features rounds of stationary Deku Scrubs as well as moving Gwaze and Wolfos.

00:58 You'll need nearly 2200 points to win, and you'll have to do it twice if you want both

01:02 the heart piece and quiver upgrade.

01:05 The Clock Town one is slightly worse, requiring extremely fast reaction time to hit red Octoroks

01:11 and avoid blue ones.

01:13 Earning over 40 points the first time nets a quiver upgrade, but a perfect score of 50

01:18 gets you the heart piece.

01:25 Snowboard Race - The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess

01:35 After beating the Snowpeak Ruins dungeon, Link can challenge Yeddo and Yedda to snowboard

01:40 races down the mountainside.

01:42 Yeddo might push you over if you get too close, but beating him isn't too demanding.

01:46 Yedda, on the other hand, will make you work extra hard for that piece of heart.

01:51 She's much faster than her husband, and always takes the massive shortcut, which means you

01:57 have to as well.

01:58 The number of times Link went headfirst into chasms during our playthroughs is simply too

02:02 high to count.

02:04 Yedda may be adorable, and we're happy to have helped her, but this minigame makes us

02:08 want to rip all her happiness away.

02:17 Bombchu Bowling - The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time

02:28 Ocarina of Time has some beloved minigames, but Bombchu Bowling sure isn't one of them.

02:34 It features three rounds of trying to hit an exact target with a Bombchu.

02:38 You have to take the fuse time of each Bombchu into account as the lane grows longer with

02:42 each round.

02:43 You also have to get the angle just right, otherwise the Bombchu will go right past the

02:48 target.

02:49 Adding to the frustration are obstacles like Kukos that can destroy the Bombchu instantly.

02:53 As if the trial and error of the actual game wasn't bad enough, you also have no idea what

02:58 prize you'll be going for until after you pay 30 rupees.

03:02 Could be a coveted piece of heart, or just 10 bombs you can find anywhere.

03:16 Dodo's High Dive - The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword

03:34 After completing his side quest, Link can partake in Dodo's minigame.

03:37 He'll be fired from a cannon high into the sky and dive back to the rotating platform

03:42 below.

03:43 He'll get a reward, or not, depending on which space he lands on.

03:47 There are also rings to dive through to multiply his winnings, and balls to avoid that reset

03:53 the multiplier.

03:54 It's a pretty fun time once you get the hang of it, but earning its top prize is tricky.

03:59 Only by getting your multiplier up to 10 and then landing on the single red and blue space

04:04 will Link be given a piece of heart.

04:06 Even if you get the multiplier up, the platform spins quickly, so it'll probably take you

04:11 more than a few tries.

04:19 Kuko Wrangling - The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap

04:29 Kukos have been causing Link grief for decades, but we'd rather take on a whole chicken army

04:34 than try to play this minigame again.

04:37 In Hyrule Town, you'll find Anju, whose herd of kukos has gone missing.

04:41 She'll ask Link to track them down, which takes the form of a multi-phase minigame with

04:46 a time limit.

04:47 The first few rounds are easy, as the number you need to catch is low and you have plenty

04:52 of time.

04:53 But eventually, golden kukos are introduced, which are much faster and can break free of

04:58 Link's grasp.

04:59 The kukos also grow further spread out, requiring items like the Pegasus Boots and Flippers

05:05 to reach them.

05:16 Sinking Ships - The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker

05:28 It's hard to call anything with an RNG element hard, but Sinking Ships from Wind Waker is

05:33 too aggravating to ignore.

05:35 Found on Windfall Island, Link can play what is essentially Battleship for 10 rupees.

05:40 He'll have 24 chances to hit 3 big octos on an 8x8 grid, each one ranging from 2 to

05:46 4 squares long.

05:47 However, as there are no hints to their location, a lot of us just guessed and came away empty

05:53 handed.

05:54 For those of us that were more determined, you could wind up dumping a bunch of money

05:57 before ever getting a prize.

05:59 Sure, you can be patient and adjust your guesses, but it took a different way of thinking and

06:05 it wasn't very fun anyway.

06:18 Shadow Ball Derby - The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds

06:29 Low Rules' version of baseball gained a reputation for having one of the hardest heart

06:34 pieces to get in A Link Between Worlds.

06:36 Link has 30 pitches to gain 100 points, with multiple pots spread across the field.

06:42 Red ones are worth 1 point, while gold ones are worth 5.

06:45 And birds that appear after hitting 3 pots in a row are worth 20.

06:50 Actually managing to get your timing right and hit the targets is where the challenge

06:53 lies.

06:54 There are 3 stances for the 3 distances, and swinging late curves the ball towards the

06:59 left while swinging early makes it go right.

07:01 Additionally, hitting a wandering crab causes pots to reset, so there's more strategy

07:06 than you'd think.

07:15 Mounted Archery - The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild

07:28 And here we thought the horseback archery of Ocarina of Time was tough.

07:32 Near Highland Stable, Link can find Genie, who offers one of the most rage-inducing challenges

07:37 in Zelda.

07:38 While riding horseback, you'll have to shoot balloons within a 60 second time limit.

07:42 Finding the right balance between speed and accuracy is incredibly difficult.

07:46 It's more than likely you'll speed up to keep time and end up missing a target.

07:50 By hitting 20 or more, Link gains the knight's bridle, while hitting 23 or more on a second

07:55 attempt gets him the knight's saddle.

07:57 As these are for your horse, and completely cosmetic, they're pretty poor prizes for

08:02 the amount of effort it takes.

08:03 Rapid fire or multi-shot bows make it less infuriating, but it's still no easy feat.

08:14 Roll Goal - The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess

08:24 Inside the fishing hole of Twilight Princess, players can find Roll Goal.

08:28 The premise of the minigame is simple, tilt the box to cause the ball to roll, leading

08:32 it across narrow paths to the opposite end without falling.

08:35 There are 8 levels to beat, which earns Link the frog lure.

08:39 However, doing this in the Wii version is much harder, given you have to actually tilt

08:44 your controller rather than use a joystick.

08:46 Each level has a 3 minute time limit, which sounds like enough until you reach the final

08:50 levels and your hands start sweating.

08:52 For an extra challenge, after beating it, you can take on mirrored levels with increasingly

08:57 shorter time limits.

08:59 Not that we'd want to, but to each their own.

09:10 Goron Dancing - The Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages

09:24 A rhythm minigame with the few buttons of a Gameboy doesn't sound so bad, but this

09:29 one is a surefire way to get royally pissed.

09:32 In Oracle of Ages, Link can find a Goron Dancing minigame.

09:36 To earn its best reward, you'll have to play in the past era and on platinum difficulty,

09:41 which is frankly absurd.

09:42 Even though there are only 3 poses, there is no room for your input to be off by even

09:47 the smallest fraction.

09:49 These sequences are fairly long too, and there are 8 of them.

09:53 Adding insult to injury, this is the only method to get the bomb ring, but there's

09:57 a chance the ring you get won't even be that one.
