00:22 >> I think we are very grateful for this partnership.
00:25 And I was just saying that the financing part, the resource,
00:30 is something that without which we couldn't do much.
00:33 So when these people are evacuated from Libya
00:37 where they are going through tremendous trauma,
00:40 they arrive here in Rwanda that have given the space for them
00:44 to find security first, to be able to be assessed
00:50 and see how we can find a durable solution for them.
00:53 I think it's a very great step that we have achieved.
00:56 So, so far we have managed to have about 1,000
01:00 that have transited here and found a durable solution
01:03 in another third country.
01:04 So we are very grateful for that.
01:06 This additional funding actually helps us
01:09 to pursue what we are doing.
01:10 Because we have been working with the European Union
01:15 for the past, since the beginning, actually since 2019.
01:19 And this funding needed to be renewed.
01:22 That's what has happened.
01:23 We've got an additional tranche of 22 million euro
01:27 that can cover our activities for the next four years.
01:30 So I think without this we would not have been able
01:33 to extend what we have been doing so far.
01:36 So that's what we are doing.
01:37 And we're going to reinforce and improve the infrastructures
01:41 that we have and also extend the services to the comers
01:45 that come from Libya.
01:46 But also that can help us also to advocate more
01:50 for finding a durable solution for them in a third country.

02:04 >> I mean the needs are immense.
02:07 And I also think that this is a very significant support.
02:11 It really is an expression of our commitment
02:15 to support these initiatives.
02:17 And we will continue assessing the needs
02:19 and seeing how best we can be part of the solution.
02:22 The colleagues were saying, the people who stay
02:26 in here they were detained in Libya.
02:28 They often spend two years, three years, very long periods
02:31 of time in detention centers in Libya.
02:33 They register with UNHCR as refugee.
02:36 And then UNHCR channel their demands and channel them
02:40 through the camp here.
02:42 While they are here, the intention is
02:44 to find a durable solution for them.
02:47 Some of the European Union member states like Finland,
02:50 Sweden, France, Belgium have been hosting them
02:55 and allowing them to be a result to Europe.
02:57 And in the time of the wait, while they are here waiting,
03:01 the camp UNHCR offers them support to develop skills
03:07 on a number of issues that will make them develop future lives
03:12 ahead when they come out from here.
03:14 >> Obama, that it was being, I mean that hundreds and thousands
03:20 of refugees found in Libya and they found themselves trapped
03:25 in a situation they were not expecting.
03:28 I mean you talk to the people, they tell you we left Sudan,
03:30 we were hoping to reach Europe.
03:32 We found ourselves trapped in Libya.
03:34 We found ourselves in pursuit,
03:36 found in detention centers, aggressed by police.
03:39 They spent their two years without freedoms.
03:42 And I think that yes, to be working and supporting some
03:48 of the African solutions to that situation,
03:51 it's something that we are proud of.
