00:47 we tried to put up this facility many years ago.

01:00 Not once, not twice, maybe three times.

01:09 But on the fourth trial, we succeeded.

01:16 Rwandan spirit is in a sense that we have not failed once.

01:28 We have failed many times.

01:31 But we have succeeded many more times than we have failed.

01:39 And we keep learning from our failures.

01:43 We keep trying.

01:44 Keep failing, but we keep trying.

01:46 And we finally succeed.

01:49 And this is really what happened in the case of this facility.

01:55 And on the fourth attempt, why we succeeded,

02:04 it was also because of the pressure of opportunity

02:10 that was presented to us by the AU offering us

02:16 to host the summit that we are going

02:19 to host in a few days to come.

02:23 This facility, the hotel, the convention center,

02:31 are truly first Rwandan, truly Rwandan.

02:40 If you saw the dome, many of us were born and housed

02:55 in small hearts like that dome.

02:57 [LAUGHTER]

03:00 So it has that connection.

03:03 It has that cultural and emotional attachment.

03:12 So the design, though modern, connects directly

03:18 with that history, with that culture.

03:20 So that's why I'm saying it is truly Rwandan.
