Taihape is known as the Gumboot town of New Zealand, after the gumboot throwing contest held there annually. It is actually a really pretty little town & has some great scenery. After the church service we went to the river for photos ... the scenery is spectacular, then we stopped in town on the way back & of course at the giant gumboot!! The reception was held at the golf club which has spectacular veiws. They were a truly lovely couple & their families made us feel so welcome. Plenty more to see at www.afpnz.com
