00:35 Brothers A Tale of Two Sons Announced at the 2023 Game Awards, Joseph

00:43 Ferris' Brothers A Tale of Two Sons is getting a gorgeous looking remake on February 28th,

00:49 2024.

00:50 The original game follows two siblings on a journey to cure their dying father, in a

00:54 fantastical but dangerous world.

00:57 It was the first video game directed by Ferris, who then went on to found Hazelight Studios,

01:01 crafter of the incredible co-op adventure It Takes Two.

01:05 Only the Switch version of Brothers featured multiplayer, but the remake will retain the

01:09 co-op element that made Ferris' previous award-winning work so engaging.

01:13 Regardless of whether you play it alone or not, this is a tale we look forward to revisiting.

01:21 Mario vs. Donkey Kong

01:26 After spending some time apart, Nintendo reignited Mario and Donkey Kong's rivalry through

01:31 a puzzle platformer on the Game Boy Advance.

01:34 2004's Mario vs. Donkey Kong was a delight.

01:37 Everything from the simplest of obstacles to the most head-scratching brain teasers

01:41 gave you a wondrous sense of accomplishment.

01:43 A remake was announced during a September 2023 direct, and will release on February

01:48 16th, 2024.

01:49 The original game and its sequels were a great revitalization of the arcade gameplay

01:53 that made both Mario and DK stars, so we hope this leads to a brand new game down the line.

01:59 While $50 is a bit steep for this type of game, Nintendo's level of quality is usually

02:04 worth it.

02:05 Mario vs. Donkey Kong

02:10 Alone in the Dark

02:18 DKs have the ability to breathe new life into a dying franchise, and since Alone in the

02:22 Dark hasn't had a good game in quite a long time, that's exactly what we're hoping

02:27 this release will do.

02:29 Set to launch on March 20th, 2024, this new installment reimagines the 1992 original.

02:34 For those unaware, it tasks players with escaping from a haunted mansion, and has been credited

02:39 as one of the most influential survival horror games of all time.

02:43 One of the series it influenced was Resident Evil.

02:46 While the team behind this one was inspired by Capcom's own remakes.

02:50 If Alone in the Dark is even close to that level of quality, this will be something special.

03:00 Max Payne 1 and 2

03:08 The caliber of Remedy Entertainment has become more recognized in recent years thanks to

03:12 award-winning games like Control and Alan Wake 2.

03:16 For their next trick, the developer is tackling the franchise that put it on the map.

03:20 In April of 2022, the studio announced plans to remake the first two Max Payne games, and

03:25 bundle them together.

03:26 Unfortunately, the project was very early in development when it was announced, and

03:30 as of writing, we've yet to see anything on it.

03:33 Even still, those games are gritty noir at its finest, at least in video games.

03:38 No matter what changes are made, we have faith that Remedy is handling it with the utmost

03:42 care.

03:43 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell

03:56 Ubisoft hasn't seemed to care much about Splinter Cell in a while, but most fans are

04:00 hoping that'll change soon with the planned remake of the first game.

04:04 Announced in 2021, it'll be internally developed by Ubisoft Toronto, the same team behind 2013's

04:10 Splinter Cell Blacklist, and 2021's Far Cry 6.

04:14 Sadly, this is another project we've yet to see anything from, and the exit of creative

04:19 director David Grivel in October of 2022 does seem a tad worrisome.

04:24 However, when it comes to spies and espionage, there are few franchises that are as respected

04:30 as much as Splinter Cell.

04:31 Fans have been begging for something, anything, for years now, so we hope this doesn't disappoint.

04:38 Metal Gear Solid Delta - Snake Eater

04:54 While we're not fully ready to forgive Konami for how it treated series creator Hideo Kojima,

04:58 or for many other slights against the gaming community, that doesn't mean we're not hype

05:03 as hell for this remake.

05:05 We don't think it's too big of a stretch to call Snake Eater one of the best Metal

05:08 Gear Solid games, and since it chronologically takes place first, it's the right call for

05:13 a remake.

05:14 It's being built in Unreal Engine 5, and the brief footage we've seen so far is very

05:19 enticing.

05:20 Although Kojima isn't involved, Konami has stated its intent to remain faithful to the

05:24 original, which means no new story content or voice acting.

05:28 But as long as it's a better way to play an already great game, we'll be happy.

05:37 The Witcher Remake

05:46 The Witcher as an IP wouldn't be nearly as big as it is today without CD Projekt Red.

05:51 The third game is considered by most to be one of the greatest games of all time.

05:55 When it comes to the first game though, well it definitely shows its age.

05:59 So when the studio announced in October of 2022 that a full blown remake was coming,

06:04 we were some of the many who were pumped to hear it.

06:07 Another remake being built in Unreal Engine 5, CD Projekt is supervising developer Fool's

06:12 Theory, who, among other games, assisted Larian Studios in making Baldur's Gate 3.

06:17 As exciting as it all sounds, we sadly don't have any footage or even a release window,

06:22 so we'll just have to be patient.

06:31 Persona 3 Reload

06:37 There is not a single Persona fan, new or old, who isn't ecstatic about the upcoming

06:43 remake of the third entry.

06:45 We know this because Atlus themselves have stated how often they've been asked for

06:49 one since the series grew more popular.

06:51 Many of the social aspects people loved in Persona 5 are well intact here.

06:56 It follows a high schooler after moving back home, joining a group of other students to

06:59 combat Shadows, dangerous entities that emerge from an anomaly known as the Dark Hour.

07:05 The visuals already popped back on the PS2, and it obviously looks even better here.

07:11 And we're sure the gameplay hook will be as satisfying as ever.

07:14 Thankfully, we don't have long to wait since Reload releases on February 2nd, 2024.

07:25 Silent Hill 2 Konami has been sitting on a survival horror

07:34 goldmine for far too long now, but Silent Hill is finally making a return.

07:39 Among many other announcements for the franchise, a remake of the second installment was unveiled

07:43 in October of 2022.

07:45 Unlike the internal development of Snake Eater, Konami is handing the keys to Bloober Team,

07:50 who have already proven their worth in the genre with games like The Medium and the Layers

07:54 of Fear series.

07:55 While Silent Hill 2 is arguably the strongest in the franchise, it being more than 20 years

08:00 old makes the Unreal Engine 5 revamp sound incredibly tempting.

08:04 However, it's also one of the greatest horror games ever, so big shoes to fill.

08:13 Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Remember how excited you were when Final Fantasy

08:24 VII Remake came out?

08:25 Well, since that game was actually pretty great, you can double it to understand how

08:29 hype we are for Rebirth.

08:31 This is obviously a special case, considering the standalone original was substantially

08:35 expanded on to make it a trilogy.

08:37 More weight was added to the plot, especially when it came to the relationships between

08:41 its characters.

08:42 The battle mechanics were also fresh and exciting, while retaining turn-based elements to honor

08:47 its predecessor.

08:48 And everything we've seen of Rebirth looks like it will be even better.

08:52 We can't wait to see what else is added and what familiar elements are given new light.

08:57 On February 29th, 2024, we'll be getting lost in this world once again.
