Part of the country will see accumulating snow on Christmas Eve, while others will have a rain-filled Christmas Day. Here's what you can expect.

00:15 but not the greatest travel

00:17 weather in the Windy City.

00:18 Thursday and Friday you're going

00:20 to see some showers out there and

00:22 this is a look at your late week weather.

00:24 Your Thursday and Friday time frame.

00:26 Here comes an area of rain.

00:27 There could be a few thunderstorms

00:29 as you head farther South into Texas,

00:31 but from Chicago to Kansas City.

00:34 some pretty big airports.

00:35 There could be some issues here for

00:37 travelers and also Southern California.

00:56 going to merge right over the Rocky

00:58 Mountains, which is essential for snow,

01:00 especially in Denver Saturday night.

01:02 where you could see an inch or two,

01:04 but there'll be higher amounts

01:06 up in the mountains.

01:07 So your Saturday travel here folks

01:09 with some rain across portions of

01:11 the southern and northeastern US

01:12 and some mountain snow in the West.

01:16 then looking ahead to your weekend

01:18 weather there's that snow that breaks

01:20 out across the northern Rockies into

01:21 Colorado and also into the northern

01:23 plains with some wet weather between

01:25 Kansas City and the Gulf Coast.

01:27 So looking ahead to your Christmas Eve,

01:29 this is your Sunday travel.

01:33 be some accumulating snow that could

01:35 also be rain from Minneapolis

01:36 southward to the Gulf Coast.

01:38 Your Christmas Day does show snow

01:39 across the interior portions of

01:41 the of the Northwest there.

01:43 So yeah, there could be some problems,

01:45 but otherwise it's just rain from

01:47 Chicago southward on your Christmas.
