US Forms Coalition of 10 Nations to Protect Red Sea Trade Amid Rising Houthi Attacks

The US has announced the formation of a 10-nation coalition to protect trade in the Red Sea, in response to increased attacks by Yemen's Houthi rebels on commercial vessels. The coalition will be led by the US and include Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, the Seychelles, and the UK. The Houthis have ramped up drone and missile attacks on ships in the Red Sea, targeting vessels alleged to have links to Israel. Over the weekend, US and UK navies say they shot down a total of 15 Houthi drones in the waterway.
