Tens of thousands of illegal vapes have been seized in Newcastle. The Surf Cafe in Tynemouth has had to close its doors as they have been served with a lease end notice. Stagecoach offers kids free travel during festive period across North East.

00:10 Newcastle Trading Standards told members of the council's health scrutiny committee that

00:14 the team has seized 3.3 tonnes of non-compliant vapes, which is around 76,000 vaping products

00:21 worth £1.1m.

00:24 The Surf Café in Tynemouth has had to close its doors as they have been served with a

00:27 lease end notice.

00:29 In a statement the café said they want to say a huge thank you to the local community

00:33 and visitors and they are hopeful they can find somewhere to relocate in the future.

00:38 And finally Stagecoach North East have announced free bus travel for children over the festive

00:42 period.

00:44 Until the 7th January, kids aged 11 and under can travel for free on Stagecoach buses across

00:49 the region when accompanied by a paying adult.
