Northeast Storm Leaves Tens of Thousands Without Power Amid Dangerous Flooding

On Dec. 18, heavy rain and wind gusts of up to 50 mph caused power outages for over 300,000 people from Virginia to New England, CNN reports. As of early that day, the most outages were in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts. Restoration efforts are expected to be difficult, as wind gusts are anticipated to continue throughout the day.
