There is a push for Canberran to donate blood over Christmas and New Years, with ACT Lifeblood calling for 900 additional donors. Artermis Passey needed blood to survive childhood cancer, so her mum Ashley donated at the Garran donor centre.

00:04 It takes a lot of sacrifices from other people when your child has to be in hospital over the holidays.
00:10 We appreciate the people who donated, the nurses and doctors that spent their time,
00:15 not with their families, but in the hospital with us taking care of our kids.
00:19 So it took a lot of people to get us through that time.
