British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said on Saturday that he would push for global reforms to the asylum system and warned the threat of growing number of refugees could "overwhelm" parts of Europe.

Speaking at a political event in Rome organised by his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni's right-wing party, Sunak said hostile powers would use illegal migration as a "weapon" to destabilise societies.
