Hey, DC fans! Big news coming your way – James Gunn just spilled the beans on Matt Reeves' involvement in expanding The Batman universe and crafting a brand new series in the DC Universe. Let's dive into the details!

James Gunn recently confirmed that Matt Reeves is not just working on The Batman but is diving deep into a new series within the emerging DC Universe.

Gunn took to social media to engage with fans, shedding light on Reeves' role in creating an Arkham series set in the Batman universe, all part of the grand plan by Gunn and Peter Safran.

A fan asked about Reeves' involvement beyond The Batman: Part II, the Penguin series, and the Arkham series. Gunn clarified, 'Right now, Matt is producing Arkham as a DCU series, so there’s just the two for now.

And when another fan inquired about the Arkham series known as Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, Gunn expressed appreciation for Reeves as a director and producer, saying, 'Certainly.

We love Matt as a director and producer,' Gunn explained. 'He’ll be producing stories within both The Batman universe and the broader DCU.

Here's a key detail – the Arkham series was always intended for the DCU, not a part of Elseworlds like The Batman or Joker: Folie à Deux.
Gunn clarified, 'It was one of the first pitches we bought when Peter and I came onboard. I don’t know the permutations it went through before that time.
And for those wondering, in the Batman universe, Arkham refers to Arkham Asylum – the fictional psychiatric hospital and prison housing some of Batman’s most notorious adversaries.
