00:16 Several of them said they did not spot any signs of soil erosion
00:21 and there were no structural cracks on the road leading to their homes,
00:25 and so it came as such a shock when the landslide occurred Saturday night
00:30 following a heavy downpour swallowing four of their cars.
00:50 He also said disappointment set in when he learned that he could not seek insurance
00:55 compensation for the loss of his car as the incident is considered an act of God.
01:01 Another resident, Tong Ailee, said she called the Fire and Rescue Department for help
01:07 soon after the landslide occurred.
01:10 I was shocked. I was shocked but I was like, what do you call it, how do you say it? Yes, yes.
01:18 Then I called. I didn't dare to come near it. I was afraid it would collapse and continue to collapse.
01:23 So I called and then I went to prepare the important items. I didn't want to go out.

02:21 the next road to our place. It's too close for comfort.
02:25 So that's why I appealed to authorities, to the council, please do something quick.
02:32 Although this is a step in the right direction, what they have done this morning, but
02:36 more needs to be done to tackle climate change, you know, things like that.
02:41 It's going to affect this area.
02:43 Subang Jaya City Councillor Lee Jane Wing urged residents to alert the local council
02:49 if they see any soil erosion in their area.
02:52 Meanwhile, Subang MP Wong Chen, when met by reporters at the scene,
02:58 said the affected residents could go to his parliamentary office to receive assistance of
03:04 RM1,000 from 10am on Monday as the repair work is expected to take two weeks.
