'Home Alone' is added to National Film Registry

On Dec. 13, the Library of Congress added 'Home Alone' and 24 other movies to the registry, 'USA Today' reports. Another holiday movie that made the cut was Tim Burton's 'The Nightmare Before Christmas.' Films within the registry are picked for their "cultural, historic or aesthetic importance". Other popular films that were added to the registry include 'Lady and the Tramp,' 'Fame,' 'Desperately Seeking Susan'. 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day,' 'Apollo 13'. 'Love & Basketball' and '12 Years a Slave'.
