Doritos and drink company Empirical have announced a collaboration to create a "nacho cheese spirit" hard alcohol infused with the flavor of Doritos Nacho Cheese flavored chips. The Empirical x Doritos Nacho Cheese Spirit is described as an "uncategorized" spirit that doesn't fit neatly into categories like gin or vodka. On the nose, it has aromas of nacho cheese, corn tostada, and umami, and on the palate, it has deeper corn flavors finishing with a soft salty note. The 40% ABV spirit is suggested for enjoyment neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails like margaritas, bloody marys, and old fashioneds featuring the nacho cheese flavor profile. Bottles will be available starting next month for $65, and preorders begin on December 13th online and in select markets in New York and California.
