WWE Fans are left STUNNED as Ring Breaks Mid-Fight Leaving Wrestler with Bloody Gash

WWE fans were left shocked as the ring broke during a match on NXT on Tuesday night.

During the event, which saw Dijak and Eddy Thorpe battling it out inside the ring, things took a turn for the worse after the two wrestlers ended up snapping the rope.

The incident occurred after Dijak charged towards his opponent and slammed him into the corner of the ring, causing the rope to go limp and the equipment to fall apart.

In quick-thinking fashion, Dijak used the metal rod of the turnbuckle as a weapon to attack his opponent until referees rushed out to force him out of the ring.

It happened just moments after Dijak was left with a nasty and bloody cut to the side of the head - which would cause him to leave the fight.

Fans were left stunned by the incident, with one user taking to social media and posting a clip of the accident with the caption: 'YO WHAT THE HELL?!?!'

'Viewer @cristalrish wrote on X (formerly Twitter): ‘Oh my freaking gosh!!! The entire top rope turnbuckle broke off and Dijak is bleeding…looks like it wasn’t planned'.

'Wtf, the ring just broke on NXT lol,’ one user was quick to point out.

Another wrote: ‘The ring broke! Someone missed the quality control check earlier today #WWENXT’

'I can’t tell if that rope shoot broke or not but it looked damn close,' another fan wrote.

It's worth noting that the 'exploding ring' is not an uncommon event in the WWE, with the most famous example being between Big Show and Brock Lesnar in 2003.

While it hasn't been planned 100% of the time, it's fair to say 90% of the time it has been.

Just days prior, fans were left stunned after CM Punk's surprise NXT Deadline appearance.

Just weeks after being sacked by AEW, Punk returned to the WWE in November, having left the company nearly a decade ago on frosty terms.

Following his return, Punk made an appearance at WWE NXT Deadline on Saturday night and it's left fans eager to know which brand he'll be signing with.

Since returning to the WWE, the former world champion has appeared on both RAW and SmackDown before now appearing on NXT.

PWInsider reports that Punk's appearance was pitched on Friday at the WWE SmackDown taping.

Per the report, Punk was not hidden backstage, and he was available to NXT talent throughout his time at the venue.

Meanwhile, Haus of Wrestling reported that Punk was described as being 'great around everyone' backstage at the show.
