00:02 because he's wrapping up season one

00:03 of "Frasier Crane's" new chapter on Paramount+,

00:06 and he stopped by to talk all about it

00:08 to our resident Frasier.

00:15 The original ended almost 20 years ago.

00:17 Why was now the time?

00:19 Roseanne Barr's show was returned to television,

00:21 and I was like, "Oh, well, that makes it

00:24 kind of interesting," and there was an appetite

00:26 for that kind of show again.

00:27 I wanted to involve the whole legacy cast,

00:29 but once the ship had sailed on that,

00:31 we dived right into this idea of going back to Boston

00:35 and centering the relationship

00:37 around his relationship with his son.

00:39 I don't need to be tended to like a child.

00:41 Ah! Ha!

00:43 You mentioned that legacy cast,

00:45 and we think of John Mahoney right off the bat.

00:47 We did a couple of sort of hidden little gifts

00:49 around the set for people.

00:51 The baby's name is John.

00:53 The bar's name is Mahoney.

00:54 It was established in 1940 when John was born.

00:57 Frazier fans were surprised with Perry Gilpin's

00:59 big return as Roz, and while the show

01:01 hasn't been renewed for a season two yet,

01:04 we couldn't help but wonder...

01:06 Is there a chance that anyone else could come back?

01:08 Well, I suppose there's probably a chance.

01:10 We do have Daphne Niles' son on the show,

01:12 so it would make sense that they might come back.

01:14 I'd love to see a couple people from Cheers come back.

01:16 Whatever happened to the good old days?

01:18 Q, we talk about some of your other roles out there

01:20 that you recently revisited Beast in the MCU.

01:22 Yes, Beast is a passion for me.

01:25 I've always wanted to be a blue person,

01:27 and now I am in film.

01:29 Okay, good.

01:30 And excessively hairy,

01:31 although I am actually excessively hairy.

01:33 (laughs)

01:34 And I just try to do a lot of trimming.

01:35 Will we see Beast again?

01:36 I hope to.

01:37 I certainly hope to.

01:38 There's been some discussion.

01:40 I've always wanted to play him again.

01:41 20 years ago when that premiered,

01:44 I just, this is it, I've made it.

01:46 I'm finally in a franchise movie.

01:48 And they said that they were gonna go back in time

01:50 and Beast was gonna be younger.

01:51 It's a great feather in my cap now

01:53 to have him come back and have people

01:54 still be interested in seeing

01:56 who is arguably the greatest Beast ever.
