PH ships damaged in weekend China coast guard harassment
  • 4 months ago
The civilian-led convoy to the West Philippine Sea has turned back. The so-called "Christmas Convoy" was forced to abort its mission after apparent harassment by Chinese vessels.

The convoy organizers say, the supplies will be turned over to the Philippine Coast Guard so they can still be distributed to intended recipients. Earlier on Sunday, the convoy altered its planned course after CCG ships fired water cannon at Philippine vessels conducting a resupply mission to Ayungin Shoal.

These incidents come a day after the Chinese coast guard also used water cannon at vessels of the Philippine Fisheries Bureau.

As EJ Gomez tells us, these latest acts of Chinese aggression have sparked a new round of condemnation from the international community.
