00:00 I'm riding from my home in the highlands of Scotland to GCN HQ down in Bath, over 750

00:11 miles, taking in some of the top climbs in the UK. I'm going to try and do it in three

00:18 days, taking you along on a real-life training ride to get to the start line of the Transcontinental.

00:29 A solo ultra endurance race, the TCR invites up to 300 riders to cross Europe against the

00:35 clock. It's a mind-boggling 4,000 kilometers with only four checkpoints, and to add an

00:42 extra twist, the riders have to devise their own route. Embarking on the toughest training

00:51 rides here at home will hopefully see me join the elite band of riders who've successfully

00:56 completed the Transcontinental. Oh, I'm so tired. The point of the race, which is to

01:19 find the fastest person to cross Europe on a bike, that is only as good an ambition or

01:25 a test as the people willing to take part in that test. A steep one. All right, just
