00:00 I'm here this morning with Richard Adcock who is part of the Co-operative Funeral Service

00:05 and we're here with the Leicestershire and Rutland Police as part of the start of the

00:10 Winter Drink Drug Drive campaign. Now Richard you're here today with a rather dramatic

00:18 prop I would say but it's not is it really? I mean this is something that you as a funeral

00:23 service do have part of to play with the police don't you?

00:28 Absolutely yes these aren't props these are real coffins which we've had dramatically

00:34 wrapped in this very visual message to help support the Road Safety Partnership and the

00:41 Leicestershire Police with their campaign. And this is all part of the Fatal Four campaign

00:45 and the Winter Drink Drug Drive campaign which is starting here today?

00:49 It is we do this every year for them at around Christmas for the start of the Drink Drive

00:54 campaign. Now this kind of a message I mean this is obviously very visual but the point

00:58 is looking at the graphics that you have on the coffin here is that people do die as part

01:06 of drink driving every year don't they? Absolutely drink driving and drug driving our teams unfortunately

01:14 do have to attend the roadside every year for numerous roadside deaths which unfortunately

01:22 does include fatal collisions and drink driving and drug driving.

01:27 And what kind of response are you getting from people from something as dramatic as

01:30 this? Does this get the message across?

01:32 It does it does help to get the message across we've even this morning we've had various

01:35 people come up to us just asking questions and saying why are we here what's this all

01:39 about and it's just a very visual impact of getting that message across as to why we're

01:44 here and if we can just help just one person stop and think about why we're here and perhaps

01:51 not get into a car after they've had a drink then that's a great thing that we've achieved.
