00:00 when I found out, you know, at the same time as the rest of the world that my marriage
00:04 was ending in divorce, I was gutted.
00:07 Jeannie Mai sheds new light on her recent divorce from Jeezy.
00:11 On December 4th, Jeannie appears on The Jennifer Hudson Show to open up about her recent split
00:18 from the rapper, claiming she found out with, quote, "the rest of the world."
00:23 Things are different from the last time you were here.
00:25 Some unexpected news broke about your marriage?
00:29 I was going through things and marriage ended in divorce and it was kind of hard.
00:37 So yeah, it's what I'm dealing with day by day, you know?
00:41 And how are you doing now?
00:42 Well, I'm doing, I think I'm doing better now.
00:45 You know, I think at the time when I found out, you know, at the same time as the rest
00:51 of the world that my marriage was ending in divorce, I was gutted.
00:56 So yeah.
00:57 Today, it's about picking up the pieces.
01:00 It's about discovering me and being a mom to the best blessing in my life, my little
01:05 girl.
01:06 Accentuating the positive and the beauty in life.
01:11 Even though this year I met the most broken version of me, I also met the strongest version
01:16 of me.
01:17 I love how you said that.
01:18 That's going to empower so many.
01:21 The new interview comes four days after Jeannie seemed to suggest an illegal filing obtained
01:26 by E! News that her estranged husband was unfaithful to her, writing in her response
01:33 to his September divorce filing that the court "should enforce a section of the prenuptial
01:39 agreement regarding infidelity."
01:42 She said their agreement "provides an impertinent part that in the event that either party engages
01:49 in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in
01:55 communication with a third party, there will be financial consequences in an eventual split."
02:01 Although Jeezy has not personally responded to Jeannie Mai's recent court filing of his
02:06 alleged infidelity, a spokesperson for the 46-year-old said to Us Weekly on December
02:12 2nd, "Any claim of infidelity on Mr. Jeekins' behalf are 100% false and we have no further
02:18 statements at this time."
02:20 E! News has reached out to reps for Mai and Jeezy for comment, but hasn't heard back.
02:25 Back in November, Jeezy got candid about the split in an interview with actress Nia Long,
02:31 revealing that despite trying therapy together, the former couple, who share 21-month-old
02:36 daughter Monaco, could not make things work between them.
02:41 Integrity and tech, I could never say anything that would not honor somebody.
02:48 But I can tell you that this has not been an easy journey.
02:55 I can tell you that I'm saddened.
02:59 I can tell you that I'm disappointed.
03:01 I can tell you that I'm uneasy.
03:07 But again, God has put me in a different path, and that path is going to entail for me to
03:16 take care of myself and to love myself and to be in the best situation that I can thrive
03:23 as someone who's been through all the things that I've been through.
03:26 It's kind of something you can't explain.
03:28 Yeah, you can't.
03:29 The real thing is like, you know, I don't like to fail at anything.
03:34 Me either.
03:35 I don't want to lose.
03:36 I don't want to fail.
03:37 I don't want to fail, especially when I know what—
03:40 You've poor hands.
03:41 Right.
03:42 And, you know, as I said across from you, like I can only be responsible for myself.
03:48 True.
03:49 You know, and I can only do what I can do, right?
03:54 And I can't expect someone else to do what I'm doing.
04:00 But did you go to therapy with her?
04:02 Yeah.
04:03 Okay, that's good.
04:06 So you actually addressed it, tried to work through it, tried to do the work, and it just
04:11 was like not happening.
04:13 You know.
04:14 Yeah.
04:15 I'm sorry.
04:15 It's okay.
04:16 It's okay.
04:16 It's okay.
